Welcome

The Holmes Funeral Home was established in the north end of Manchester on Woodbridge Street in 1925 by Mark Holmes and has been a community service and a place for holding funerals and honoring a life ever since. Mark's sons Howard L., Arthur, and Norman operated the family business from 1946 (moving to the current location at 400 Main Steet in 1948) and acquired the Watkins Funeral Home, a long established (1876) family operated funeral home, in 1977. In 1992  Mark's grandsons, Howard M., Richard, Scott, and his namesake Mark C. acquired the funeral homes and carried on the tradition of personal consideration. In 2017 they then chose Brian Romanowski and Glenn Blumenstein to continue their grandfather's legacy.

We are a 24 hour, 7 day a week, 365 day a year service. Just like ambulance, police, and fire departments, we are ready to respond to wherever the death has occured, at home, at a nursing facility, or at a hospital. We can help arrange for different types of services (funeral, memorial, celebration of life) and dispostions (burials, cremations, medical donation). No two families are the same, we strive to accomodate the needs of all. We are here to help you celebrate, remember, and be with you at a difficult time that everyone, ourselves included, have or will experience.
